Content:
This seminar offers an understanding of the characteristics
of glass as a packaging material. The course will introduce
the participants to techniques for the evaluation of flaw
severity and how to distinguish
between functional and cosmetic defects.

1. An understanding of the characteristics of glass as a packaging
material.
2. The fracture analysis skills needed to determine the cause
of breakage problems.
3. An appreciation of the differences between molded and tubing
vials.
4. The ability to categorize defect types and their sources.
5. Techniques to evaluate flaw severity and the distinction
between functional and cosmetic defects.
6. The loads and stresses glassware must endure during normal
various conditions of use.

This course is recommended for quality control personnel,
supervisors, and customer service personnel who need to identify
defects and their effect on performance, to evaluate breakage,
and to understand molded or tubing glassware as a packaging
material.
